What a wonderful 9-11 gift...just what everyone at the airport wants to have a conscious reminder of...the alternative use for aircraft....Smooth.

I knew some of the people killed at the WTC...I also knew one of the people who were aboard the plane that hit the Pentagon. To top it off, I was driving past the Pentagon when it was hit.
But today, the fifth anniversary of that attack, I need to say...ENOUGH!!

Enough with the families who have become professional victims...you have been paid, with my tax dollars, for your husband/wife/son/father/lover/etc being killed at his/her/their desk whilst trading futures (or whatever)...this is not a particularly heroic way to die...in fact, it is not heroic in any sense of the word except in that it meets your need to be victimed...

The firemen and policemen who died in those towers were wasted...they were thrown away...by a city that would rather spend zillions on some other bullshit (take your pick) than on the radios necessary to allow them to communicate within the steel behemoths of the urban landscape. A city with too much territorial pissing going on between the FD and the PD to have someone actually be in command...so contradictory orders were passed that resulted in the deaths of good brave men...they were actually heroes...not the janitors at the WTC, here illegally and who families got tons of money for it...
STOP the damned wallowing...you are embarrassing yourselves and the rest of the country...you are supposed to be NEW YORKERS for Christ sake...there was a whole lot less wallowing in PA and Arlington (VA)...and they lost people too...and lets not forget our recent war dead...

The Blame Game...there is enough to go around...Bush didn't cause it...Clinton didn't cause it...(altho both contributed in some ways)..Nor did the NSC staff (contrary to what Dickie-the-dick says), or the DoS. The FBI and the CIA have never gotten along...the fact that warnings were missed is not new...Pearl harbor is a good example of how bureaucracies work...and that was more than sixty years ago...Thankfully, these bastards are a tad more forthcoming with eachother now than they were five years ago...

Earlier this evening I stopped the channel surfing long enough to catch the debate between two certified assholes about the Bushies admitting that there were secret CIA jails in other countries...this was on that old stalwart of socialism, the PBS version of news...with Jim Lehrer. (Sidebar: Back in the early eighties I watched the MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour...the days of being able to rely on them for good straight-up news are long since gone...)

The two above-mentioned assholes will remain nameless since I know them both personally, but you may take my word for it, they are typical Washington creatures...covered in slime all whilst pontificating at a level normally reserved for popes and hereditary heads-of-state. One maintained the party line from the democraps about torture and how evil it is...the other whined, as only a lawyer can, about how the new regulations covering torture are not enforceable...
Ya know what??? neither of these bastards has ever spent one god damned day in uniform...much less been a 20 year old corporal with a rifle and the responsibility for a fire-team of three or four other men...who have just finished a fire-fight or just watched someone they know blown to little tiny pieces by a road-side bomb planted in the name of Allah (shit be upon his name). Under pressure to stop the fighting by delevoping current combat intelligence... So when your anus is sucking back up inside your rectum and you are scared and tired and pissed off and you are supposed to figure out what the fuck the guy near the bomb who espouses your death is coming from, you might, just might, get a little harsh...like smacking the shit outta his head a time or two to get his attention that you will seriously fuck him up if he isn't cooperative...killing him is what he wants...so keeping him alive is a good idea...but the stress you are under so far exceeds that of our legal brethren in their decorated offices as they head to cocktails at the Metropolitan Club and pretend that they know any-fucking-thing about the real world...the world of shit and sweat and dirt and overwhelming fear all dumped on kids by yet another set of pontifical bastards at opposite ends of Pennsylvania Avenue...one currently guided by his own savior, Jesus H. Christ...the others by the more secular god of socialism and it's nasty twin...greed, but both sides guided, above all, by the personal love of attention garnered by who can be the most outraged on any given day by what the kids they sent to die have done or not done...and yet, the one with the personal Savior had one, and only one thing right...the bad guys are VERY bad...and they will either kill us all, or begin a fight that lasts for one hundred damned years...or until they use little nukes to create the total anarchy they so crave...said anarchy will envelop the world and create a way for them to flourish...(inasmuch as any religion or culture based on more-than-the-usual-bullshit can flourish) They are not kidding...no amount of end-poverty measures will abate their march to victory...only the harshest methods will...and yet, when they have overtaken the west, I hope that those two assholes on PBS tonight will be in the delegation to try to reach an accord with people for whom the only accord is a God of such vengeance and evil that he could easily be considered the equivalent of the devil in other religions...cuz I know that these two will drop to their knees and beg to be the servants of Allah (shit be upon his name)...without even a thought for the part they played, with hundreds of others, in the demise of the west...
