Who drills where???

While our elected idiots sit on their asses in Washington and try to out-soundbite each other, ask yourselves why it is that our own oil companies are not allowed to expand drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Straits...meanwhile, Cuba has leased such rights to Communist China amongst others.
The Greens play a part in this. Although I am generally very pro-environment, this is one position they have taken which I cannot support. Like it or not, we need the oil in our own offshore areas...and it needs to be at least somewhat cost-effective for the oil companies to get involved. That doesn't mean that most enviro concerns cannot be met. But, given a choice between more and hopefully cheaper oil, versus the longevity of the Puffer-tailed, yellow lipped Snatch-fish, I think I might have to go with the oil...at least until a real alternative presents itself.
Meanwhile, the Chi-Coms drill away off the coast.

About Oil and gas...

God help us! Congress is talking about enacting a "windfall profits tax" to punish the gas companies for all the money they have made lately. Does anyone remember the late 70's???
The last time Congress did such a stupid damned thing the price of gas went even higher and inflation became rather, shall we say...massive?!

How about if congress enacted legislation that granted relief from TAXES on gas??? Has anyone ever heard these idiots suggest that as a way to give some relief to the average American???
Nope! And you never will!

For those of you lacking in oil/gas stocks, I will explain a few things. These stocks seldom pay well. Sure, there are dividends, but not particularly great ones...this time around EX/Mob actually DID pay some decent dividends...for a change.
In factoring the prices, also remember that each part of the country, indeed sometimes in each part of a state, there are different formulations of gas...these are mandated by the Gov't...this formulation changes with the seasons, so right now the gas at your local distributor/mixer is being made to comply with EPA standards for Spring/Summer driving...(hot weather, smog etc). This takes time and money...and the formulation changes not just with the seasons but with new information on pollution. This also causes the price to go up...

I am no great fan of the oil/gas industry...but I know when congress is about to stick it's greasy nose in somewhere that will hurt the whole country...and this is one of those times.

The Crusades...

Last night I became aware of an American cleric, of the Episcopal church, who travels to the Middle East regularly. Whenever these trips cause him to meet a Muslim cleric, this American feels it incumbent upon himself to apologize for the Crusades.
Yup! That's right. This rectum seems to think he can represent the entire Christian world of the Middle Ages, Pope's, kings, princes and populations and tell the poor aggrieved Muslims how sorry we are about the unpleasantness our Christian ancestors brought to the Holy Land.
I seem to recall that it was ole Saladin (a Kurd, not an Arab) who invaded the Holy Land to begin with...but that aside, I cannot fathom any one who has the astounding gall to take it upon himself to do such a stupid damned thing. What an ass!

We have been sold...

The Senate that is supposed to represent all of us has come to what they call a "breakthrough" on the immigration reform bill.
This breakthrough is abundently helpful to two groups of people...illegal Hispanics, and those who employ them.
Yesterday I read the bill in question...it has more holes than a colander...Frist and company have sold the country to (mostly) big business...lock, stock and everything...I guess as long as profits are up illegals are welcome here...God knows what will happen if the economy becomes less than upward in movement...maybe then the illegals will go home, or somewhere else. Naw. Probably not. After all, that's what welfare is for.

Felonious fashion

In our continuing effort to bring you the best of the worst, I submit the above photo. In it are depicted one Andrew Solomon and a young woman named Sheehan. They are at Alice Tully Hall in NYC for a meeting of a poetry organization. Such (alleged) luminaries as Streep and Alda were there to read.
Why do I show you Mr. Solomon??? Well, take a look at his attire...when I first saw this picture I thought he might be in the Guatemalan air force (if there is one) or at the very least a doorman in Greenwich Village...but he is neither.
He is just another tacky "LOOK AT ME" sort of individual, the sort who must not, under any circumstances, be emulated.

A naughty but accurate fan threw a syringe at the grumpy Barry Bonds yesterday. Bonds was said to be seriously pissed that the syringe was empty. He didn't do anything in the following game of note.

Well, the jury in the Federal Courthouse in Alexandria (VA), has decided that ole Zacarias Moussaoui can be given the death penalty.
This is news??? Jeez! I doubt that this was ever much in doubt.
Personally, I'd rather that this pile of radical Islamic camel dung spend the rest of his life in an American prison. One where the general population of Aryans and Bloods could teach him some new English words/phrases...like "bitch-boy" and "punk" and "tunnel of love". Now, I don't want him abused all of the time...just a few hours every other day will be fine. The rest of the time should be spent in solitary asking Allah (Praise be His name), why he was chosen as a recepticale for the love juices of the infidels.

Speaking seriously, it was clear during his whole trial, much less the sentencing hearing, that he is, as they say in the deep south, "not right in the head". Hell, you can see it in his eyes...He told all that bullshit about being the one chosen by bin Laden to hijack a plane and hit the White House specifically so he would get the death penalty...
The jurors in the penaly phase bought right in to what he wanted...and now the dolts have given it too him...fools.

DEATH WISH

Someone in a green SUV, who might well be the most stupid person on earth, let loose a bit of 'road rage' at the HELL'S ANGELS the other day...the incident occurred on I-95 near Westhaven, CT. This guy shot two Angles, killing one...there were about thirty in the group that seems to have annoyed the SUV driver.
Now, think about this...Thirty HELL'S ANGELS and you and your buddy in an SUV...and you shoot at the ANGELS...
Once this guy is located, hopefully by the cops and not the Angles, I know what is defense will be...it's simple really...he is totlaly friggin' crazy!
Who the hell would even consider a firefight with the Angles??? Man...I guess all that FBI interest in the 80's must have done them in, 'cuz I cannot imagine the other 28 Angles letting this guy get away...

Money, Money, Money

Manhattan DA Robert Morganthau has announced that his office is coming down hard on a major US financial institution
which had been washing and funneling money from South American drug dealers AND our old pal Usama bin Laden.
It appears that the bad guys have been employing weaknesses in American laws to accomplish this...It took three years to conclude this investigation. The bad guys sent three billion dollars thru this bank. I cannot wait to learn which bank it was that was putting profits ahead of everything.

OH! WAIT! Profits ahead of everything....Damn! I wonder who will go after the many, many businesses, especially Fortune 500's, who hire and/or exploit illegals so their profits are greater??? (We all know that no one will, but it is a nice fantasy to have.)

HOLD IT!!! EXPLOITING WEAKNESS IN AMERICAN LAWS??? Well, we cannot let drug dealers do it, and we sure as hell cannot let known terrorists do it...but we just don't have the time to stop anyone else from jumping thru those legal loopholes that exist along our southern border...damn! Government has to have priorities after all. All of those apparatchik's at every level government (federal, state, local), haven't got time to address the issue of illegals... much less stop them.

Equality...

Checking the news just now (13:30 hrs EDT) I saw yet another shot of the latino marchers, somewhere...one, with a hat depicting the mexican flag, was carrying a hand made sign proclaiming WE ARE ALL EQUAL.
Well, that rather sounds all Jeffersonian or Madisonish...I wonder if our little marcher has read
much of either man, or any of the founders, beyond what he is told to espouse and sprout whenever the opportunity arises... I tend to fuckin' doubt it.

Power shortage...

The US Capitol was evacuated today as a result of a power outage. Funny how such a thing can occur. I know that they have a back-up system of some sort, so why was the power out for anything longer than five minutes???

Pepco, the Potomac Electric Power Company, supplies most of the city with electricity...my house included...I won't bring up at this point how many brown-outs occur, especially in the summer. But I would have hoped that the parts of the government that are considered important (depending on your point of view) would not have to deal with this stuff.

As yet no information has been issued regarding the cause of the blackout. Luckily, it happened on a Monday...Congress works Tuesday-Thursday, so only staffies and tourists were in the area...and the light, chilly rain may well have refreshed them...

Good ole New York...

One of the reasons that I love New York City is the people. yes! ALL of the people...all trillion of them, or what ever it is (eight million?)...WHY you ask??
Because they are not anywhere near as stupid as they sometimes appear to be to outsiders.

The hispanic groups in NYC watched their brethren in CHI and LA march with Mexican flags and chant "viva meh-hi-ko" for the cameras, and the New Yorkers realized what a dumb-assed thing that was to do...
So when the big march took place in NYC yesterday, they made sure to carry lots and lots of American flags, more than the ones of their many and varied native countries...Several carried home made posters saying I (heart) the USA.
THAT is how to win friends and influence people...

Of course, NYC is full of folks from Puerto Rico...which, to my mind, makes them Americans anyway...and they are significantly more sophisticated than their Mexican and banana-land cousins. The 'Ricans speak English, go to our schools, work in our stores and generally (except for the odd parade catastrophe), are normal pretty well behaved people. And they clearly are smarter.

One woman from Argentina was interviewed by the NYT. She too must be pretty sophisticated because her pronounced love the US was gushy...her point was that her children could grow up to be anything, whereas in Argentina they couldn't.

Personally, I have always found (most) Argies to be more European than plain old run-of-the-mill "hispanics"...but then, most of the run-of-the-mill hispanics I have known were from Mexico or the banana republics (not the store)...

As I see it, people form Panama should be welcomed here...they were a colony...Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, etc. are on their rown...world communism is dead (as a threat in the Central Americas), who cares if they go socialist...and Costa Rica is so on it's way to becoming what Florida was fifty years ago, than they will not be turning back to socialism of the Ortega variety...

Meanwhile...WELL DONE NEW YORK...

The return of Howie the Horrible...

Not content to try actually render assistance to our* country as it sinks into the abyss of hispanicism, old Howie the horrible returns now with the usual bucket o' shit that Bush is "scapegoating" the hispanics...Uh huh! God what a razor sharp mind you have Howie...how incisive...how quick to spew forth the most vile and unadulterated waste products and label it as political conversation...If only Washington or Lincoln had men like you Howie, our history would have been so much better...

The biggest thing standing between the Democratic party and success is Howie the Horrible...quite possibly the most bitter and stupid man on the political scene today, bar none...and he will try to run for Prez in '08...wait and see kiddies...like Tiresais told us, Howie doesn't work for the DP, Howie works only for Howie...hell, just ask any Capitol Hill Democrat...elected or staff. They'll tell you the truth.


* I use the word our only for actual Americans...it is not meant to confuse the 962 +/- Mexicans who have an elementary command of English...I don't want them to think Howie the Horrible is in their country...that might scare them, and we'd never be rid of them.

The BABOON

The individual pictured above is a Mexican DJ in Burbank, CA. He has a little talk show with others of his ilk. HE is the individual most responsible for the turmoil now gripping our country. He is the individual who organized the border-jumpers in LA to march with all those multi-colored strips of toilet paper they call Mexican flags. He is the individual who's analysis of the legislation currently before of congress led to the present and future problems.

His analysis was based on the cold clear legal logic garnered not at Harvard or Yale, but from working at a series of radio stations and having the nickname the BABOON. His own admission is that his program is all jokey and silly...but somehow this genius of not just law but policy felt it necessary to organize the poor suffering illegal mexican community to fight for their RIGHTS in the US...

Clarence Darrow he ain't...and Baboon is as accurate an approximation as I have ever seen. Note how his gesticulations make him appear to be clutching his chest???
(Sigh), Would that it were so...a heart attack or stroke will do; but a 7.62 chest pain would be so much more gratifying.

A dolt named Yoni Cohen from Fox sports has made a special effort to point out that LSU/Mason/UCLA and Florida are not really very good teams...I wonder why then, they are in the final four??? I mean, they won when it counted didn't they??? Isn't that why it is called MARCH MADNESS?? BTW, what the hell kind of name is YONI???

Barry & Mark...Mark & Barry. Along with ole Jose, they are serious steroid users...the difference, Jose admitted to juicing...he even named his auto-bio along those lines. But Mark and Barry haven't got any balls...'roids shrink them up, so that must be why they don't admit that they are the top notch cheaters that they are.

Mark has a little leeway. Everyone liked him and he didn't go out of his way to piss off the entire planet...whereas Barry just got nasty as a junkie without a fix...(OH! well...come to think about it...) Now that there is pretty incontrovertible evidence against Bonds, his stats are gonna get hammered...and I say GOOD! GREAT!!! WONDERFUL!!! Mark is not quite as well centered on the bullseye as Barry, but his turn will come...Selig just announced today that a big time investigation in to 'roid use will begin now...I'll bet that doofus from the players union felt his little-bitty (I am guessing, I don't know personally), boy parts shrivel up on that one. The union will be screaming "privacy" and, if they are not careful, they will destroy baseball...(think about the season-long NHL strike last year...a whole year without professional hockey...and 99% of Americans (legal ones) didn't even notice)...baseball has it's work cut out for it...and that work includes crushing Bonds, Mac and any other SOB who cheated his way into the record books.


As I see it the best way to end Bonds reign of terror is for all pitchers to refuse to throw one ball when he is up...A very close pal of mine suggested that, and I hope it catches on...not just to Bonds, but to others who cheated...and the players know who the hell the users are...so it isn't like it'd be speculative...
Funny how Bonds attempt to injunction the book outlining his malfeasance wasn't based on the accuracy (or lack thereof) of the book, only that the authors had used secret Grand Jury testimony to make some of their allegations...in other words...HE CANNOT SUE THEM FOR TELLING THE TRUTH, so he tried to stop them any way his shyster lawyers could...happily, the judge saw thru this...

What has happened to Americas "pastime"?
