(dis)Honest Abe

Pictured here (sorry if it is around your breakfast time), is one ABE POLLIN...owner of the Washington Wizards...when he first bought the team it was called the Washington Bullets...but that was a few decades ago...and in the 80's when DC was also called Dodge City (much to the chagrin of the erstwhile residents of that locale in Kansas), and drug pushers/users were shooting up certain neighborhoods, civic minded old Abe changed the teams name to Wizards, because Bullets was too violent. I always wondered how many gangsta's decided not to shoot someone when the team stopped being so violently named. Old Abe is virulently anti-gun ownership too...altho I would hazard a guess that his personal security force all carry...

This morning I happened to catch Old Abe on TV, doing a PSA for an outfit to raise money for poor little Israel...that aggrieved little garden spot full of peace loving folks who were maliciously attacked by Hezzbollah a few weeks ago...(actually, it began over a kidnapping, not an assault)...so as I watch Old Abe (he is in the late 70's now) poorly read the the teleprompter, I am forced to ask..Abe, you are a billionaire, Why TF are you asking the rest of us for money??? If it weren't for the oil, 98% of Americans (and 99% of Europeans) wouldn't give a rats ass about anything or anyone in the Middle-East...don't show me pictures of the few lightly damaged buildings in Haifa when southern Lebanon is wrecked (yet again), and ask me to put up a few bucks to re-build for you/them...and the veiled references to the Holocaust aren't gonna pull my heart strings...you ain't Weisenthal Abe, so quit trying to be...

And, what about the five billion in direct aid and six billion in indirect aid the US gives Israel?? Re-build your own damned houses...my money went to New Orleans...
